About The Event
This is a wonderful opportunity to visit one of the leading sites for space development in the UK. Â We have designed this visit with our young astronomers in mind, so priority will be given to our CYA members, but there will be space for a few adults as well. Â The provisional programme is:
8.00 am - Meet at the Institute of Astronomy for registration and refreshements
8.45 am - Board coach and depart from IoA
9.45 am - Arrive at Airbus Stevenage
10.00am
- Welcome, handing out passes, and introduction
- Short talk about the site and what is done here
- Tour of manufacturing facility.
- Mars Yard visit with talk on Mars and our Rosalind Franklin rover project
- Visit to STEM centre
- Return to site - Q&A, other business, close.
12.00 Noon - Board coach to return to Cambridge
13.00pm - Arrive at IoA, Cambridge
The cost of the visit is £25 per adult (which allows us to take our CYA members for no charge).  Places will be allocated on a first come/first served basis.
For security reasons, we will require full names, dates of birth and nationalities of all participants in advance of the visit, and adults will need to bring a government issued photo ID with them on the day
If you are interested in coming, please RSVP to this event and then email Jonathan on jonathanc@cambridgeastronomicalassociation.com. Â Jonathan will be able to confirm your reservation and it is important that you do this. Â Please do not arrive on the day unless your space has been confirmed with Jonathan. Â We will require payment in advance.
