Once again we are hosting an afternoon-evening Astronomy event at the IoA where members of the CAA and of certain invited clubs are aiming to join us for a series of lectures and presentations, with some observing to follow if the weather cooperates.

About The Event

Once again we are hosting an afternoon-evening Astronomy event at the IoA where members of the CAA and of certain invited clubs are aiming to join us for a series of lectures and presentations, with some observing to follow if the weather cooperates. It would be helpful if those wishing to join us could register their interest so we know how much to cater for in the refreshments  

TimeTable:  

1:30pm         Doors open  

2:00-2:15      Welcome 

2:15-3:15      “Finding Life using the JWST” : Dr. Robin Catchpole 

3:15-3:30      refreshment break 

3:30-4:00    Tour of telescopes / observations with the Heliostat 

4:00-4:45    “The Hubble Tension - then and now : Dr. Calvin Preston 

5:00-5:30     “Planetaria” : Paul Fellows 

5:30-6:00     Quiz : Jeremy Lowe  

6pm observing if clear, until around 8pm, with additional refreshments available.  

Free entry for CAA members and those from invited clubs (Wolvas, CAWAS, SNAA)
