Find out about our nearest star - the Sun. If it's a clear day, we'll spend time outside using solar telescopes to observe it.
Time & Location

IoA, Madingley Rd, Cambridge CB3 0HA, UK
About The Event
It's easy to take our sun for granted, but it's the source of all energy on earth. This week we'll look at topics such as:
- How does the sun shine?
- What are sunspots?
- What are solar flares and are they dangerous?
- Why is the Corona of the sun so much hotter than the surface of the sun?
- How can I safely look at the sun? - the use of solar telescopes
If the weather is clear, we will spend as much time as we can outside observing the sun during this session
