About The Event

It's easy to take our sun for granted, but it's the source of all energy on earth.  This week we'll look at topics such as:

  • How does the sun shine?
  • What are sunspots?
  • What are solar flares and are they dangerous?
  • Why is the Corona of the sun so much hotter than the surface of the sun?
  • How can I safely look at the sun? - the use of solar telescopes

If the weather is clear, we will spend as much time as we can outside observing the sun during this session
