About The Event
This satellite was launched in 2013 and has mapped the positions of nearly two billion stars of the Milky Way with unprecedented accuracy. This wealth of information has given astronomers a much better insight into the evolution and structure of our galaxy. As well as observing our stars it’s also studied comets, asteroids, quasars and stars in nearby galaxies
